My name is Amalia Kallergi and I come from Greece and Computer Science. I left both for the charms of the Media Technology master program at Leiden University, a study which focuses "on creative exploration and on the understanding of science and technology". I graduated from Media Technology in June 2006 with the project "Provocative Tactics in the Museum Territory", and I still have a soft spot for (story-telling in) museums, archives and collections.
From 2007 till early 2008, I worked as a scientific programmer for the Imaging & BioInformatics Group, at Leiden University, on the development of the CSIDx imaging database for the Cyttron project. In the meantime, I taught at the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague, trying to lure artists into the beauty of programming. Since March 2008, I am a PhD student for the above mentioned group and project.
In 2009, I coordinated the art track of the CHI-NL conference, the very first exhibition I ever curated. In 2010, I worked as a (part-time) scientific manager for The Arts & Genomics Centre. At present, I am busy writing my phD thesis.
